Bonjour! Welcome to my website. My name is Sarah Ross. I'm a global worker with TeachBeyond, serving at Black Forest Academy in Kandern, Germany. I've taught French to Grades 5-12, having learned the language growing up in Canada. I'll be teaching Grade 5 moving forward. I believe Christian education deeply impacts students, transforming each community one child at a time. As Paul reminds, "we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image" (2 Cor. 3:18).
About Me
My journey to Black Forest Academy (BFA) began in September 2018. After over a decade teaching contentedly at a Christian school in Toronto, I had a surprising thought. This will be my final year. The perfect peace that followed assured me God had a plan. I just didn't know what it was yet. So I started praying. One of my prayer partners suggested I consider Black Forest Academy. I applied and was accepted for the 2019-2020 academic year. God's timing and provision at work!

Now I've been serving as a teacher at BFA for over five years, both inside and outside of the classroom. Whether teaching verb conjugations, making quiche, organizing an event, discussing life choices, or imbuing Christian worldview into lessons, I know I'm helping students grow academically, physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. It's a privilege to join with other staff and ministry partners so each child can know God loves them just as much as he loves those global communities where their parents share the Gospel. He wants his worldwide family to continue growing.

My Spot to Serve
Black Forest Academy (BFA) serves over 250 students in Grades 5-12. Established in 1956 by the Janz Team (now TeachBeyond), the school offers a quality, international Christian education that's affordable. The entire staff partners with mission organizations, allowing children from missionary families to learn and grow in a supportive setting alongside other international students.
